All permanent magnets can be used as magnetic core for magnet assemblies. Ferrite and NdFeB are the most widely used magnetic cores for magnetic component. Because cost and magnetism are the most important selection criteria.

Sintered NdFeB is the strongest magnetic material today, which can generate strong magnetic field. Magnet assemblies made of NdFeB are usually used in heavy applications.
